Jake Wyllie took his professional fight record to 16 wins from 17 fights when he won the Australian Super Lightweight title in the 63.3kg division. Now a fulltime boxer, Wyllie beat Dylan Emery by a knockout in the fourth round. The fight was scheduled for 10 rounds. Formerly from Warwick, Wyllie now fights out of the Fortitude Boxing Gym in Brisbane. He has 15 knockouts in his 16 wins and believes if things go to plan, he might be only six or seven fights away from a possible world championship bout in 2026. His secures most of his knockouts with a left hook.
All of Wyllie’s fights have been in Australia except two in Thailand. He is hoping to get on a fight card in Saudi Arabia next year. He trains three to four hours a day six days a week. Wyllie is particularly indebted to Warwick trio Chris Murphy, Wayne Watt and Mike Smith who watch most of his fights and are supporting him through business sponsorships.
